The Pleasant Grove Eagles will face off against the East Nicolaus Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pleasant Grove will bounce into Friday's game after beating Whitney, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Pleasant Grove had just enough and edged out Whitney 4-2.

Madeline Lawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Shealynn Stinson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Stinson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Alex Halverson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, East Nicolaus put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Kennedy get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Give the Spartans' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Stevie Knight made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Knight was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Knight wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Makinze Massey, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Richie Farris, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
East Nicolaus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only posted a batting average of .000.
East Nicolaus pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pleasant Grove has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Nicolaus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pleasant Grove beat East Nicolaus 5-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Pleasant Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Nicolaus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
