Lovington waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Santa Rosa Lions.

The team relied heavily on Mika Pando, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ryan Wieser, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Lovington's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Rosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lovington will face off against Roswell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Rosa, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Santa Rosa Lions duke it out with Raton Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give they their first taste of in-conference action this season.
