Basketball Game Preview: Belmont Red Raiders vs. Berlin Mountaineers

Belmont and Berlin are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Belmont Red Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Berlin Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Belmont opened the new year with a less-than-successful 55-43 loss to Campbell.

While Berlin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They really took it to Inter-Lakes for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-19 win. The Mountaineers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Berlin's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.8 points. As for Belmont, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Things could have been worse for Belmont, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Berlin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024.
