Baseball Recap: Northwest Catholic Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Northwest Catholic's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Avon Falcons on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Gavin George was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Northwest Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Avon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Catholic will face off against Wilbur Cross at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Avon, they will square off against Farmington at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
