Basketball Recap: Emma Franks and Alana Lewis Secure Win for Kossuth

There's no place like home for Kossuth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They managed a 63-58 win over the Pine Grove Panthers on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Leading Kossuth to victory were Alana Lewis and Emma Franks. Lewis shot 56% from the field to rack up 23 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Franks went 7-for-10 en route to 19 points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, Franks now owns an excellent 43.8% three-point shooting accuracy. Mary Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Kossuth was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Kossuth now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pine Grove, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Kossuth will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Potts Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Franks and Mariah Jeffries. As for Pine Grove, they will square off against Ingomar at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
