Baseball Recap: Vincent Orozco and Lucas Bowen Secure Win for Maxwell

Maxwell never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Portola on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Massey Baker was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Maxwell let Lucas Bowen and Vincent Orozco run wild. Bowen scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Orozco scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
