Baseball Game Preview: Windsor Jaguars vs. Ukiah Wildcats

For the second straight game, Windsor will face off against Ukiah. The Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Windsor's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Ukiah's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Windsor's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Ukiah 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

AJ Rakowski tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Windsor's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Calen Levar, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Levar has snagged this season.

Ukiah's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
