Falcon and Air Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Falcon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Air Academy likes a good challenge.

Falcon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 88-76 to Liberty last Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (65), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tyler Cox, who went 8 of 9 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Potts, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 20 points.

Even though they lost, Falcon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 13 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Air Academy played a tough game last Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Pueblo South an easy 72-50 victory.

Falcon will have to contain Brody Winnett as he made an impact in Air Academy's last game. He went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Wyman, who posted four points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Falcon's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Air Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Falcon has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Air Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Falcon came up short against Air Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2020, falling 66-60. Can Falcon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
