Baseball Game Preview: Manti Templars vs. Delta Rabbits

The Manti Templars will challenge the Delta Rabbits at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Manti is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Manti was able to grind out a solid victory over Delta, taking the game 9-5. The Templars haven't had any issues with the Rabbits recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lane Cox and Chase Keisel were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Cox struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Keisel tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Manti is 6-1 when Cox allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-8 otherwise. At bat, Cox went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Keisel went 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Keisel has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Mason Cherry was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Manti kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Manti back to even at 9-9. As for Delta, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Manti has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Delta struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
