Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Moore Hornets vs. Eustis Panthers

The Bishop Moore Hornets will face off against the Eustis Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bishop Moore is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They managed a 45-41 win over Liberty. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Connor Corris was the offensive standout of the game as he posted 14 points. Brandon Rivera was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Eustis had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-41 victory over the Bulldogs. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Moore better keep an eye on John Miller. He was instrumental in Eustis' win, going 12 for 15 to rack up 28 points. Those 28 points gave Miller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cornelius Hines, who put up six points and seven rebounds.

Bishop Moore's record is now 7-20. As for Eustis, their record now sits at 18-8.

Bishop Moore and Eustis were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, but Bishop Moore came up empty-handed after a 55-54 defeat. Thankfully for Bishop Moore, Karlton Walton (who went 9 of 15 en route to 22 points and seven boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
