Baseball Game Preview: King's Way Christian Knights vs. Washougal Panthers

King's Way Christian and Washougal are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The King's Way Christian Knights will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Washougal Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

King's Way Christian is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell just short of Hudson's Bay by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

King's Way Christian got a good showing from Noah Myers, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, Myers posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Jace Barnes was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Washougal fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Seton Catholic on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 8-7. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

King's Way Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Washougal when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Does King's Way Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Washougal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
