Basketball Game Preview: Asheboro Blue Comets vs. Montgomery Central Timberwolves

The Asheboro Blue Comets will head out on the road to square off against the Montgomery Central Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Asheboro came up short against Ledford on Friday, falling 51-26. While losing is never fun, the Blue Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Panthers are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, Montgomery Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against Oak Grove, falling 68-25. The match marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Asheboro has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Montgomery Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Asheboro and Montgomery Central were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but Asheboro came up empty-handed after a 48-47 defeat. Can Asheboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
