Softball Recap: Bibb County Comes Up Short

If Bibb County was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Paul W. Bryant last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bibb County Choctaws came up short against the West Blocton Tigers on Thursday, falling 16-5. The Choctaws were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bibb County has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. The victory (which was West Blocton's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Bibb County will be taking part in a tournament against John Carroll Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. John Carroll Catholic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.13 runs per game on average), something Bibb County will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Blocton, they will head out to square off against McAdory at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Blocton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
