Preview: Clayton Clippers vs. Glassboro Bulldogs
Clayton and Glassboro are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Clayton Clippers will head out on the road to take on the Glassboro Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clayton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 58-30 victory over Salem at home.
It was another big night for Rainelle Blocker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 11 games she's played. Deondria Simon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, everything went Glassboro's way against Burlington Township on Friday as Glassboro made off with a 68-46 victory. The victory was just what Glassboro needed coming off of a 60-33 defeat in their prior contest.
Clayton pushed their record up to 11-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Glassboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Clayton beat Glassboro 50-40 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Does Clayton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glassboro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
