Softball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

After flying high against Jac-Cen-Del on Friday, Southwestern came back down to earth. Southwestern came up short against South Central on Saturday, falling 15-7. Southwestern was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Southwestern saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloey Leach, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another was Lilly Fox, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Southwestern has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for South Central, they pushed their record up to 9-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

While Southwestern had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
