Basketball Recap: Ra?Monce Spriggins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Hills over Polytechnic

South Hills was the 54-29 winner over Polytechnic when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The South Hills Scorpions received a blow on Friday as they fell 54-38 to the Polytechnic Parrots. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ra?Monce Spriggins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. That was a full 42.1% of South Hills' points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kingston Mays, who put up four points and seven steals.

South Hills' record is now 5-19. As for Polytechnic, their record is now 9-13.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Trimble Tech the next time they take the court. Polytechnic will head out to face Trimble Tech at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while South Hills will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
