Softball Recap: Cincinnati Christian Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Cincinnati Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Norwood Indians. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 16-3 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Kelsey Stacy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Maddie Thompson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Naomi Updegrove, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Cincinnati Christian pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Norwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Cincinnati Christian will be playing at home against Cincinnati Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Norwood, they will square off against Lockland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
