Independence had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Glendale Cardinals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on April 3rd.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Independence was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-15.

Charles Pennel paced Independence's offense, picking up six kills. Pennel got some help from Diego Benitez and his seven assists. Daniel Hernandez and Hser Lar kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Independence's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-13. As for Glendale, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coming up, Independence will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Agua Fria at 6:00 p.m. As for Glendale, they will venture away from home to face off against Apollo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
