Basketball Game Preview: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. Red Rock Scorpions

The Phoenix Christian Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Red Rock Scorpions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Phoenix Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Red Rock will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, Phoenix Christian blew past Madison Highland Prep, posting an 82-10 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Red Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Fountain Hills 79-11. The Scorpions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-6.

Phoenix Christian's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10. As for Red Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything came up roses for Phoenix Christian against Red Rock in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 51-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Phoenix Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
