Basketball Recap: Bridgeport Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bridgeport extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kim Ellis. The Bridgeport Bearcats strolled past the Nouvel Catholic Central Panthers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-45 thanks in part to Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bridgeport's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of My'Angel Smith, who posted 12 points along with eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Bridgeport pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. As for Nouvel Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
