Baseball Game Preview: Crown Point Panthers vs. Schroon Lake Wildcats

The Crown Point Panthers will face off against the Schroon Lake Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Crown Point lost 14-3 to Bolton Central on Monday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Schroon Lake faced off against Johnsburg Central on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 11-9.

Schroon Lake saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Pelkey, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The Wildcats are 2-1 when Pelkey posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Jayce Emmert also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Crown Point dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Schroon Lake, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4.

Crown Point skirted past Schroon Lake 9-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
