Soccer Game Preview: Millard South vs. Omaha Central

Millard South is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will be playing at home against the Omaha Central Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Millard South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Papillion-LaVista South, who was ranked 21st at the time (Millard South was ranked 20th). The Patriots' defense stepped up to hand the Titans a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. Millard South's winning goal came courtesy of Kathryn McLaughlin.

Meanwhile, Omaha Central came into Thursday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eagles who were credited with the victory on Thursday. Omaha Central got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Westview's two.

Omaha Central's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Millard South, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Millard South got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Omaha Central by a conclusive 4-1 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
