Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Carlisle Barker and Josh Benbenisty Lead Canterbury to Victory

It was a proper cat-fight when Canterbury took on Bradenton Christian on Thursday. The Canterbury Cougars secured a 57-51 W over the Bradenton Christian Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2021.

Canterbury was led to victory by Josh Benbenisty and Carlisle Barker. Benbenisty posted 14 points and three steals, while Barker went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Collin Meagher was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

The win was the third in a row for Canterbury, bringing their record for this year to 5-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Bradenton Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Canterbury wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-59 defeat against LaBelle on the 13th. As for Bradenton Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-66 victory against Imagine School at North Port on the 11th.
