Basketball Recap: Wadena-Deer Creek Takes a Loss

Wadena-Deer Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 76-72 heartbreaker at the hands of the New York Mills Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly four points.

Wadena-Deer Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for New York Mills, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Wadena-Deer Creek will square off against Perham at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Perham knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Wadena-Deer Creek likes a good challenge. As for New York Mills, they are taking a road trip to take on Pillager at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pillager's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
