Basketball Recap: Wes-Del Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Julian Carpenter and Josiah Love

Wes-Del was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Eastbrook Panthers, falling 72-46. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.

Wes-Del's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Josiah Love, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 17 points, and Julian Carpenter, who posted nine points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Carpenter a new career-high in blocks (two).

Eastbrook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malakai Luthy, who had 14 points and five rebounds. Jayden Younce was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Wes-Del's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Eastbrook, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Coming up, Wes-Del will look to defend their home court on February 21st against Blue River Valley at 7:30 p.m. As for Eastbrook, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-33 victory against Tri-Central on the 15th.
