Soccer Game Preview: River Valley vs. Del Campo

The River Valley Falcons will take on the Del Campo Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

River Valley gave up the first goal on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Nevada Union. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Miners are ranked 957th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alex Navarette and Miguel Ortiz scored both of River Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Del Campo beat Yuba City 3-1 on Friday.

The win made it two in a row for River Valley and bumps their season record up to 7-1-1. As for Del Campo, the victory got them back to even at 5-5-1.
