Softball Recap: Legacy Charter Eagles vs. First Academy Eagles
Legacy Charter fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against First Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 19-10 to First Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Legacy Charter of the 17-15 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Lindsay Donahey put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out 16 batters over nine innings while giving up four earned (and 13 unearned) runs off 12 hits. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Madison Catrett was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Kowal, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-6.
Legacy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for First Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3.
Legacy Charter wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-5 loss against Lake Buena Vista on the 11th. First Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Altamonte Christian at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th.
