League recap: O'Krepki throws longest pass in league this season for St. Paul

Ryan O'Krepki and Marcus Gaines provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Northshore. The connection went for 74 yards, the longest such play in 5A District 6 this season.

Mandeville's Joe Starkey recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Fontainebleau last week. Starkey scampered for 70 yards on the play and finished with 88 on the day as his team topped the Bulldogs.

Mandeville's dynamic duo of Glen Cuiellette and Zach Boudreaux proved tough for Fontainebleau to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cuiellette threw for 186 yards and four touchdowns and Boudreaux had 121 yards receiving. Zachary Tircuit helped Mandeville's passing attack out by catching two balls for 74 yards.

Gaines was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 114 yards on 11 carries as St. Paul defeated Gregg Hudson's team. Teammate Justin Elzy added to the ground attack by rushing for 101 yards.

The Skippers' Cuiellette and Boudreaux have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 5A District 6 in both passing and receiving yards. Cuiellette has thrown for 1418 yards this season, while Boudreaux has 39 catches for 721 yards. Gaines from the Wolves leads the league in rushing with 609 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Mandeville takes on second place Covington. Mandeville bested the Bulldogs last week, while Covington lost to Easton.

The Skippers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Fontainebleau, 42-14. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
