Volleyball Game Preview: Northern Guilford Nighthawks vs. Mount Tabor Spartans

After both having extra time off, the Northern Guilford Nighthawks and the Mount Tabor Spartans will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Northern Guilford is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering West Forsyth just ended the team's six-game winning streak last Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Titans.

Northern Guilford was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Mount Tabor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Reagan, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-11, 25-13.

Northern Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Mount Tabor, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Northern Guilford was able to grind out a solid win over Mount Tabor when the teams last played on April 3rd, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Nighthawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
