Football Game Preview: Van Buren Pointers vs. Marion Patriots + Official Tickets

The Van Buren Pointers will challenge the Marion Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Van Buren has given up an average of 33.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Van Buren is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They had to suffer through a 51-7 loss at the hands of Shiloh Christian. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Meanwhile, Marion's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 38-21 bruising from Benton. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Panthers are ranked eighth).

Van Buren's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Van Buren skirted past Marion 29-26 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will the Pointers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
