Basketball Recap: Matthew Collins and Andrea Cox Secure Win for Clarke Central

There's no place like home for Clarke Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Valdosta Wildcats on Monday as they made off with a 54-28 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-15.

Clarke Central was led to victory by Andrea Cox and Matthew Collins. Cox dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Collins almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Cox is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Wells, who posted five points.

Clarke Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win got Clarke Central back to even at 2-2. As for Valdosta, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Clarke Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-53 defeat against Heritage on the 25th. As for Valdosta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ware County at 7:30 p.m.
