Basketball Recap: Wayne Preparatory Academy Beats Howard for Their Second Straight Win

If Howard wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wayne Preparatory Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Onisty Jones. The Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals enjoyed a cozy 42-25 victory over the Howard Eagles on Wednesday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Wright, who posted 13 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The win made it two in a row for Wayne Preparatory Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Howard, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Wayne Preparatory Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Word of God Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Howard, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-43 victory against Riverside Christian Academy on the 17th.
