Baseball Game Preview: Harmon Hawks vs. Northeast Vikings

The Harmon Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Northeast Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Harmon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Northeast will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Harmon extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Hawks blew past Wyandotte 17-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Gibson Miller looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Harmon is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 4-6 otherwise.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Northeast was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They came up short against Highland Park, falling 29-2. The Vikings have struggled against the Scots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Harmon now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Harmon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .515. However, it's not like Northeast struggles in that department as they've averaged .487. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
