Baseball Recap: Springfield Wins Going Away Against Waite

Springfield won the last time they faced Waite and things went their way on Thursday too. The Blue Devils blew past the Indians 17-1.

Alex McCrory looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Bryce Steinmiller was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cam Whitmire, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

The win got Springfield back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will square off against Erie-Mason at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Waite, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Woodward at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Indians their first taste of in-conference action this season.
