Softball Recap: Oak Ridge Triumphs

Oak Ridge won the last time they faced Vacaville and things went their way on Friday too. The Trojans came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Kennedi Freeland made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Freeland was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Paratore and Emery Glaser did most of the damage at the plate: Paratore went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Glaser went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave Glaser a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Chua, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Oak Ridge's record now sits at 2-0. As for Vacaville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Ridge will square off against Del Campo at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Vacaville, they will face off against Casa Grande at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
