Soccer Recap: Amherst Central Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Amherst Central was not quite International Prep at Grover's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Presidents. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Amherst Central came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while International Prep at Grover are ranked 234th).

Amherst Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for International Prep at Grover, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Amherst Central wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Lake Shore on the 8th. As for International Prep at Grover, they will look to defend their home pitch on the 17th against Lewiston-Porter at 7:00 p.m.
