Basketball Recap: Winside Falls to Wynot in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Winside had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Wynot Blue Devils 74-33. The Wildcats were down 53-26 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Winside's loss came despite strong showings from Jahiem Hamik and Carter Krause. Hamik posted 11 points along with six boards and four steals, while Krause had nine points.

Devin Brummer was nothing short of spectacular for Wynot: he went 10-for-23 en route to 25 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kotner Koch, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Wynot has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winside will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Homer at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wynot, they will take on Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
