Baseball Recap: Melrose Comes Up Short

Memphis East hit Melrose with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Wildcats fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-7. The Golden Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Melrose's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Memphis East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Melrose nor Memphis East have any future games scheduled.
