Baseball Recap: Urbana's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Urbana nor Shawnee made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Hillclimbers fell just short of the Braves by a score of 10-9. The Hillclimbers' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Brody Donahoe put in work while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Kevin Endres made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Colt Teepe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Urbana's record now sits at 10-10. As for Shawnee, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.

Looking ahead, Urbana is taking a road trip to take on Dublin Jerome at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shawnee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against London at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
