            Softball Preview: Middlesex Bluejays vs. Bound Brook Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            The Middlesex Bluejays are taking a road trip to  challenge the Bound Brook Crusaders  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
On Friday, Middlesex came up short against Perth Amboy  and fell  7-4.
Meanwhile, Bound Brook never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Montgomery 14-0. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Crusaders this season.
 Mia Marusiak made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Kathy Reyes was a standout: she got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. That  double was  her first of the season.  Isabella Marusiak was another key player,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs and one  RBI.
 Bound Brook was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .478. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in May of 2024.
 Bound Brook is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Middlesex, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
 Middlesex might still be hurting after the  8-2 defeat they got from Bound Brook  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024. Can the Bluejays avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
