Volleyball Recap: Fredericksburg Takes a Loss

Fredericksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brenham Cubs.

Fredericksburg was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17.

Brenham was led to victory by Claire Huff and Logan Hayslip. Huff had seven assists and two aces, while Hayslip had nine digs and two aces. Hayslip is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Fredericksburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Brenham, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Fredericksburg and Brenham will both be playing Blanco the next time they take the court. The Cubs will head out to face the Panthers at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, while the Billies will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
