Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Great Mills

There's no place like home for Great Mills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They snuck past the Northern Patriots with a 68-62 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alec Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Bryce Robinson was another key player, going 10 for 15 en route to 22 points.

Great Mills pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Northern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4.

Great Mills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-56 defeat against Lackey on the 22nd. Northern has also already played their next matchup, an 81-58 win against Calvert on the 22nd.
