Soccer Game Preview: Horizon vs. El Dorado

Horizon hasn't had much luck against El Dorado recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Horizon Scorpions will take on the El Dorado Aztecs in a tournament on Saturday.

Horizon is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Montwood on Friday. Neither Horizon nor Montwood could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, El Dorado kept a clean sheet against Coronado on Friday. Everything went their way against the Thunderbirds as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Aztecs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 25th).

The victory got El Dorado back to even at 2-2-2. Horizon's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-1.

Horizon might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from El Dorado in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Horizon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
