Softball Recap: Portland Christian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Portland Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Fort Knox as they made off with an 18-0 win. Portland Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

Eva Hidrogo was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Bragg, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Atcher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Portland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .586 or higher in three consecutive games.

The victory got Portland Christian back to even at 11-11. As for Fort Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Portland Christian will take on Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fort Knox, they will challenge Thomas Nelson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
