The Konos Academy Condor will face off against the Central Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Konos Academy is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-58 heartbreaker at the hands of New Creation Christian Academy.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Joshua Knapp, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 boards gave him a new career-high. Caleb Knapp was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 13 points.
Even though they lost, Konos Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Christian). They blew past Lafayette Christian 108-38 on Thursday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 58-20.
Konos Academy better focus on containing Rocky Steidinger and Avery Steidinger as the pair were huge in Central Christian's win. Rocky dropped a double-double on 27 points and 20 rebounds, while Avery went 12 of 17 on his way to 30 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Rocky is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 20 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Austin Carper, who went 6 for 11 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and six steals.
Konos Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Central Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Konos Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Central Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Konos Academy against Central Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 64-32 victory. In that game, Konos Academy amassed a halftime lead of 43-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
