After a string of seven wins, Fort Payne's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Scottsboro by a score of 2-1. The contest marked Fort Payne's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Fort Payne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryker Shankles, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Shankles also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Fort Payne's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Scottsboro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
