Basketball Game Preview: Ardmore Tigers vs. Riverside Indian Braves

The Ardmore Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Riverside Indian Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Ardmore was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 61-57 to Tuttle. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Ardmore came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Tuttle is ranked 309th).

Meanwhile, Riverside Indian came tearing into Tuesday's game with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 71-59.

Ardmore has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Riverside Indian, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Ardmore was able to grind out a solid win over Riverside Indian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 69-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ardmore since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
