Athens is a perfect 5-0 against Grand Saline since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Athens Hornets will challenge the Grand Saline Indians at 7:15 p.m. Grand Saline took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Athens, who comes in off a win.

Athens will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Van on Tuesday. Everything went Athens' way against Van as Athens made off with an 8-0 win. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Vandals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Grand Saline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 8-4 to Brownsboro. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-1.

Athens' win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Grand Saline, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Everything went Athens' way against Grand Saline when the teams last played back in February, as Athens made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Athens since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
