Softball Game Preview: Everett Crimson Tide vs. Lynn Classical Rams

The Everett Crimson Tide will head out to square off against the Lynn Classical Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lynn Classical will be up against a hot Everett team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Crimson Tide blew past Chelsea 22-2 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lynn Classical, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on O'Bryant with a sharp 17-5 victory on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rams needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Aysia Olaes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. Olaes was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Neveah Eth, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Emma Chevalier, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Lynn Classical always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Everett pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lynn Classical, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everett beat Lynn Classical 8-4 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crimson Tide since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
