Basketball Recap: Nocona Comes Up Short

Nocona was the 36-34 winner over Seymour when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Nocona Indians took a 46-32 bruising from the Seymour Panthers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1127th, while the Panthers are ranked 297th).

Nocona has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Seymour, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nocona will host Archer City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seymour, they will be playing at home against Roscoe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
